These Terms of Service govern your use of the Belletrist iPad app, InkCast Cloud, the InkCast web companion, and optional local companion features. By using InkCast, you agree to these terms.
1. Using InkCast
InkCast provides notebook, tutoring, study, account, billing, and AI-assisted creation tools. You may use InkCast only in compliance with applicable law, these terms, and the terms of any third-party services you choose or that are needed for a feature.
You are responsible for the content you create, upload, import, share, or generate with InkCast.
2. Accounts And Access
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, devices, session, local companion pairing codes, and provider keys.
You may not:
- access or attempt to access another person's account, notebooks, share links, or account materials without permission
- bypass authentication, billing, rate limits, credit limits, provider limits, or safety controls
- interfere with InkCast infrastructure or another user's use of InkCast
- use credentials, local access tokens, or share links in a way that exposes someone else's information
3. Acceptable Use
Do not use InkCast to:
- violate privacy, intellectual property, education rules, platform rules, or safety laws
- upload malware or attempt to exploit, overload, scrape, or reverse engineer service infrastructure
- impersonate others or mislead people with generated content
- create or request content that facilitates wrongdoing, unsafe conduct, cheating, abuse, harassment, sexual content involving minors, malware, phishing, or weapons/drug synthesis
- abuse feedback, support, checkout, share-link, or local companion workflows
InkCast may limit, suspend, or terminate access when needed to prevent abuse, protect users, enforce usage limits, comply with law, or maintain service reliability.
4. AI Features And Generated Content
InkCast can generate or transform text, study material, handwriting-related content, code, HTML previews, images, video, audio, music, diagrams, and other artifacts.
AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, unsafe for a particular use, or different from what you expected. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on, sharing, submitting, publishing, or using it.
InkCast is not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice.
5. Your Content
You keep the rights you have in your content. You grant InkCast the permission needed to host, process, transmit, transform, display, and store your content so we can provide the features you request, operate the service, enforce these terms, and comply with law.
When you use local or BYOK modes, your selected local runtime or provider may process content under its own terms. You are responsible for complying with those terms.
6. Privacy
InkCast's Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, shared, and retained. By using InkCast, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

7. Subscriptions, Credits, And Top-Ups
InkCast meters server-managed hosted AI in credits.
- 1 rupee = 1 credit in the backend credit model.
- The free plan grants 10 free credits per day. We may grant extra promotional or tester credits at our discretion.
- The current App + Credits subscription grants 1000 credits per billing month.
- The App Store purchase sheet shows the actual subscription price, currency, taxes where applicable, and renewal period before you confirm purchase.
- Monthly paid credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over.
- Top-up credits, where available, roll over until spent.
- The request that crosses a credit limit may complete; the next request may be blocked until credits reset or more credits are available.
- Internal unlimited usage is for internal/test accounts only and is not a normal paid product.
Web checkout uses Razorpay hosted payment links. The first production iOS app submission uses Apple StoreKit for iOS subscription purchases, with the InkCast backend credit ledger remaining the authority for credits, top-ups, plan state, and enforcement. Future or non-App Store builds may use RevenueCat or another purchase transport if disclosed in the shipped app.
Apple, RevenueCat, Razorpay, and any other payment provider involved in a purchase may apply their own terms, refund rules, tax handling, and payment processing requirements.
8. Cancellations, Refunds, And Account Deletion
If you buy an auto-renewable iOS subscription, the subscription renews monthly unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID account is charged, the price is shown at purchase, and you can manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store account settings.
You can manage iOS App Store purchases through your Apple account. Web purchases are one-time hosted checkout purchases for the selected plan period or top-up and do not auto-renew through the web companion.
Deleting your InkCast account does not automatically reverse completed purchases, App Store transactions, Razorpay transactions, provider charges, or third-party payment obligations. Refund availability depends on the relevant store or payment provider and applicable law.
9. Local And BYOK Modes
Local and BYOK modes are advanced options. You are responsible for:
- securing your local network, Mac companion server, pairing code, local access token, and provider keys
- choosing providers whose terms allow your intended use
- paying any provider costs charged to your own provider account
- understanding that InkCast cannot guarantee availability, performance, model quality, or data handling for your local runtime or BYOK provider
10. Third-Party Services
InkCast may rely on third-party services for authentication, storage, hosting, AI, media generation, web search, crash diagnostics, billing, payment transport, and platform services.
Third-party services are not controlled by InkCast. Their availability, accuracy, security, pricing, limits, and terms may change.
11. Service Changes
InkCast may add, change, limit, suspend, or remove features, providers, models, plans, credits, top-ups, routes, or local companion behavior. We try to avoid breaking user workflows without notice, but service changes may be needed for security, reliability, provider availability, legal compliance, or product maintenance.
12. Disclaimers And Limits
InkCast is provided as available. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every risk, or suitable for every learning, professional, or creative purpose.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, InkCast is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, provider outages, generated-content mistakes, or third-party service failures.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or liability limits, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
13. Updates To These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we may update the date above, revise in-app or web disclosures, request acknowledgement where appropriate, or otherwise notify you as required by law.
